Build Relationships, Quality Instruction, High Expectations

 Michelle Dixon, Principal

This year our school theme is Respect, Responsibility, Caring; Take care of yourself, Take care of others, Take care of our school. This theme is broken down into two parts so it is easily understood by our youngest children and our intermediate students. It is also a nice extension to last year’s theme which was “End Meanness.” During our monthly Tiger Time school assembly we will reinforce how we can make choices in our day that helps us to take care of ourselves, others and our school. Additionally, our gifts of literature will be aligned to this theme.

In addition to our school theme, I also make it a priority for myself and all staff to build caring relationships with their students and families, have high expectations and provide quality instruction for all learners. These truly are the foundation of the work that we engage in day in and day out at Philip R. Smith.

We are anticipating a wonderful school year with success for all of our students in their academics as well as their social and emotional growth. We look forward to working together with PRS parents to help make this happen!
